Founded in 2015, Wool Couture is a young, dynamic brand specialising in chunky diy knitting, crochet, weaving and macrame kits that sell all over the world.  We manufacture our own wooden craft tools and we also offer a unique range of handmade accessories and homewares.  We are on online brand and our customers come from all over the world, we also wholesale to a number of larger brands including John Lewis and Tate. 

Location: Wool Couture, The Old Robin Hood, Southmoor Road, Brierley Gap, Barnsley, S72 9HA.

Reports to: Assistant Manager

Hours: Part time Mon, Wed and Fri between the hours of 9am-3pm. We can be flexible for the right candidate. During the Autumn and Winter period some weekend work will be required.

The role will be permanent after a 3 month trial period.

Salary: minimum wage per annum pro-rata

More about the role:

We are growing really quickly and we are looking to appoint a key packing role. We are looking for someone who is ambitious and wants to grow with our company. There will be opportunity to grow within the company as we grow. The role is a combination of warehouse packing and preparing stock for dispatch. The role will be within the operations team, who make the difference between delivering a good experience and an awesome experience for our customers. This is a physical job that will require you spending most of the day on your feet, lifting and carrying heavy objects.

As a super duper packer you will:

  • Pack goods in a timely and efficient manner
  • Prepare and clean manufactured wood stock
  • Wrap delicate items to go in DIY kits
  • Stock shelves and assist with unpacking large deliveries
  • Ensure quality standards are met throughout the packing and dispatching process
  • Inspect, quality check and wrap knitwear and DIY kits for customers
  • Lovingly, pack orders with a focus on perfection
  • Bring in stock to the warehouse and store
  • Work with the creative department to fulfil orders for promotional and external events.
  • Ensure that Health and Safety regulations are adhered to at all times
  • Ensure that safe working practices are applied at all times
  • Work alongside our part time packers and ensure they achieve all quality standards
  • Ensure quality standards are met throughout the packing and dispatching procedure
  • Compile knit kit components including wool type, colours, patterns and needles
  • Monitor stock and liaise with Operations Director in a timely manner when stock needs ordering.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to speak to customers over the telephone.
  • This role requires you to be able to stand for long periods of time and be physically fit to lift and carry our stock which can be around 10 kilos in weight.

Because we’re a small business having team members with additional skills, abilities or interests is always useful, so whilst not necessary for the role, do shout out if you have any of the following: second language, photography & photoshop, knitting or crochet skills, wood turning skills, laser cutting skills, trade show experience or anything you think may be relevant for the job.
