Digital Marketing and PR Intern

Fancy joining a young, enthusiastic brand?  We have 2 Dragons Dens investors and we have big plans!  We are looking for a graduate intern in Digital Marketing to help drive our online sales.  The internship is for 3 months and at the end of the period if you have delivered results you will be offered a permanent position.

Founded in 2015, Wool Couture is a young, dynamic brand specialising in knitting, crochet, weaving and macrame craft kits that sell all over the world.  We manufacture our own wooden craft tools and we also offer a unique range of handmade accessories and homewares.  We are on online brand and our customers come from all over the world, we also wholesale to a number of larger brands including John Lewis and the National Trust.

Location: The Old Robin Hood, Southmoor Road, Brierley Gap, Barnsley, S72 9HA.

Reports to: E-commerce Manager

Hours: Monday – Friday 8.30am-5.30pm.  

Salary: Up to £1k per month depending on the candidate and experience

More about the role:

We are a small team and our business is growing.  

We are looking for a Digital Marketing intern that can take a leading role in driving traffic to our brand by engaging current and prospective customers, and producing compelling and persuasive campaigns across various platforms (website, social media, blogs and more).

The ideal candidate will maximise opportunities for engagement, click-through and conversion by producing onsite copy, high-quality content, product descriptions, email marketing (MailChimp), and more, as required.  You will also be responsible for initiating and delivering press release, blog and online/print article content, channelling the brand voice.

A solid understanding of the business applications of social media platforms and social analytics knowledge is required.  You will research and monitor trends/market insights, manage SEO and utilise Google Analytics to improve marketing strategies and campaigns.

As the Digital Marketing assistant you will be responsible for increasing brand awareness; identifying, building and maintaining relationships with key media, influencers and brand partners; driving strategic partnerships and collaborations.

You should excel at working in a fast-paced and continually changing environment and love to share new ideas and learn new things everyday.

You will have strong concentration abilities with good computer skills as well as the ability to use a number of different software packages.

Because we’re a small business we can get really busy and we really need someone that can remain calm under pressure and who enjoys working in what can be an extremely busy environment.

You will be educated to degree level in Digital Marketing.

You will ideally be:

  • Savvy on e-commerce sites e.g. NOTHS, ETSY, websites and delivery software.
  • Highly motivated and able to complete tasks independently
  • A real team player
  • An excellent communicator 
  • Excellent in written, verbal and numeracy skills
  • A creative individual with a can-do attitude
  • Cool under pressure
  • Very organised
  • Able to drive your own car for work use
  • Willing to undertake other duties as and when required

Because we’re a small business having team members with additional skills, abilities or interests is always useful, so whilst not necessary for the role, do shout out if you have any of the following: second language, knitting or crochet skills, trade show experience or anything you think may be relevant for the job.
